The 2018 GMC Canyon is offered in five trims: SL, Canyon, SLE, SLT, and Denali. The Canyon is offered in three body styles—Extended Cab; Crew Cab, Short Box; and Crew Cab, Long Box—and in either 2WD or 4WD. The SL is only available as a 2WD Extended Cab model and the Canyon trim is only available in 2WD as a Crew Cab model. The Denali trim is available in every configuration but the Extended Cab. Powertrains and Performance
The 2018 Canyon gives you the choice of three different engines and powertrain options, and they all offer admirable power and capability. The first engine is a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque, which is perfect for most daily tasks. This engine is the most powerful four-cylinder engine in its segment, and it pairs with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The second engine is an available 3.6-liter V6 gas engine which boasts 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque; choose a six-speed automatic transmission or the available eight-speed automatic transmission for better handling, efficiency, and driving. The last engine, the 2.8-liter Duramax I-4 Turbo Diesel, offers remarkable torque at 369 lb-ft and enhances the Canyon’s mileage even more.
